Exposed: Cutting. March 24

Posted in Cutting on March 18, 2010 by chargeexposed

This next wednesday Charge Exposed will be taking on the subject of cutting. Self mutilation is a very serious epidemic that is filling the bathrooms and bedrooms of thousands of teenagers across the globe. A recent statistic said that 1 in 200 girls cuts regularly. And 70% of all girls will fall victim to some form of self mutilation, cutting and eating disorders being two of the highest ones. Cutting is an act that is sadly on the rise. Many people make fun of the subject and just write someone off as “Emo” if they see scratches on their arms, but next Wednesday at Charge we are going to do the opposite. We are not here to put a brother or sister down. We are here to help. So if you or someone you know is struggling with Cutting, come to Exposed next Wednesday night.

So many of us hide behind the door, lets open the door, and expose that which we hide from the world.

If you or your friends or kids you know truly struggle with Cutting, please come on Wednesday and let us help you step outside the door. Step outside the pain.

Leaders.

Posted in Leaders on February 5, 2010 by chargeexposed

Students I want you to know that no matter what topic we are speaking on or addressing in Charge or Exposed, you don’t have to tackle these topics on your own! Us leaders are here for you. You are the reason we are here! We are here for you. I understand that the blog may be a bit intimidating to post your life story or your views on the topics on these discussions. But I do encourage you to do so, but if you feel that it would not be appropriate or that you really should address this issue one on one with one of our leaders, we have all the leaders facebook links on the right of the page. Take advantage of these leaders! I know them well and I know they love you the same as I do, unconditionally. We are here to unconditionally love you and help you with anything and everything, nothing is too big or too small, to extreme or normal. Take advantage of your leaders students!

Exposed: Broken Families

Posted in Broken Homes on January 21, 2010 by chargeexposed

What is a broken family in your eyes?  Is it a family that has experienced divorce? Is it a family that experiences constant anger and pain? Is it a family that has the “perfect” image but truly is cracked at the foundation? What defines a broken family?

A broken family…no matter what kind…does not define you or your future…

There isn’t anyone that has not been affected by broken relationships, it is my prayer that you find your true identity in God, that you’re not born out of pain and hurt but, renewed by God and his awesome freedom.

Do you know who you are? Are you filling the void in your heart with bad relationships? Nothing will make you feel whole like God’s true love.  Seek Him and find Him in any way you can.  Turn to those you trust and can be open…real…with…

The challenge?  Express your thoughts. Carlos opened his heart tonight and was as real as could be…can you do the same?  Through being real and raw with those around you, you are creating an opportunity for healing AND ministry to others that are going through the very same issues you are going through….

What is your REAL story?

Exposing Pornography

Posted in Pornography on October 21, 2009 by chargeexposed
Pornography can seem so easy to access and turn off-and-on, but the truth is it’s more destructive, costly, and
enslaving then we can ever imagine.

What’s wrong with pornography? Not naked bodies but rather it depicts sexuality as casual, meaningless, often violent and degrading, objectifying and exploiting others to sell products or draw viewers—all of which reduce the kind of sexual wholeness
God created us for.

God offers us a more compelling and complete version of true sexuality. What will help you trust God’s version?

What are your thoughts about pornography?

What do you struggle with?

After hearing the first “Exposed” program, do you see the light of being pulled away from the darkness of pornography?

How can you help yourself or your friends not be sucked in by the temptation of pornography?

Use this blog as an opportunity to share your thoughts, struggles, pain, and even joy.  This is your space to express yourself.
